A very productive day with some very good scripting discussions. I think that you have the start of a very good idea and an interesting character but need to find the narrative. Make sure that you have recorded in your blogs the process and discussions that we had today because the thought processes that were taking place were very high level and you deserve to be rewarded for them. For Tuesday 17th June:
Two plans for two exam responses done in a double lesson - quite some going! Make sure that you do the response as soon as possible so that you can get feedback on them in plenty of time to put it into action. You should also be using the Prezi's on the exam resources page to revise the facts and figures of your case studies.
A reminder that your blog will reopen at 7pm on Wednesday 8th May for 24 hours for any last minute additions and alterations. Before this time you should receive a detailed mark breakdown of where you are currently and what you need to do in order to improve. The blogs will be closed again at 7pm on Thursday 9th May. Remember to do as many exam practise questions as possible Marking other students work is always a useful exercise. I have posted the sample response pdf documents on the page that is linked via the A2 Exam Resources button at the side of this blog. Hopefully you will be able to take the copies that you were working on in class and use the notes to help you respond to the same examination questions. Use whatever you can from the sample response and look at ways of improving it - How can you add more detail? What theory can you include? This needs to be handed in for our next Year 13 only media lesson - namely Monday 6th May. As promised the AS Exam Resources page is up and running. As with the A2 responses; the more you can get to me the more advice and feedback I can give you. Make sure that you are responding to the feedback and getting better all of the time. It would be good to get a couple of responses a week so that I know you are well prepared for the exam.
We could not avoid multiculturalism any longer! An interesting debate - it does not matter what your own perspective is on the segregation and integration debate as long as you can recognise both possibilities and representations and use them when exploring the ideas of identity and audience theory. I have attached the presentation that I used in today's lesson so that you can look at some of the news clippings that discussed the debate.
