Welcome back after a long holiday - isn't it great to get back in the swing of things? Today we tackled some very difficult assumptions about masculinity and femininity and hopeful you are now beginning to question some of the social norms that we naturally take on board as being common sense. I am sorry for pointing out the inherent inequality between the sexes that our society has created - however here is your chance to maybe try and redress the balance if you think you can. remember the image shown here? Can you think of any other words that can be used to describe masculinity and femininity which could be seen as being more positive from a feminine point of view? What words would you like to see added to the list? Leave your comments. HOME LEARNING

I do understand where this post is coming from and that masculinity is rewarded in social life and some more things that could be added to that list are maybe physical for Men but I dont know for women

I think that it is to do with what society influences on you and how you were brought up, but what if you were gay and non of your friends or anyone you knew was gay? Would it be like role models or like your idol who inspired you. I think it is more positive to be manly in society as shown in this photo, i don't know why but id love to find out. Also i don't see why things people do are frowned upon by society like the way i play computer games lots of people dont like that.

But what would you say belongs to the female description and what to the male? Are there more positive aspects to femininity that we could add?

Men; I think that men should have power added to the list, not just physical but mentally also men want to be in charge which links to dominance which is already on the list. I know what it would be called but men are always aware of whats around them and think on there feet they dont really think things through whereas women have some sort of a plan.

Women are seen as more compassionate than men and are associated with being caring, kind and happy. Whereas men will always be seen as strong and tough when all men aren't. However men will always be seen as masculine and therefore 'better' than women.
